What's Servas?

Servas (Servas) is an international organization established in 1947 to fight for world peace. Initially the organization was called “Peacebuilders”. Today’s name is translated from Esperanto as “I serve” (meaning “I serve the cause of peace”). After all, came up with her students, who thought that when you travel to another country, far better to stay away from each other than in hotels. This is the main idea. That there were no wars need people to make friends with each other and could well understand each other. Therefore, coming to another country, stopping in each other’s guests will be able to better understand another country, another culture, another way of life. Since 1973, Servas International is recognized as a nongovernmental organization that operates under the auspices of UNESCO. 

The organization has three statuses:

Servas Host

a person or family who can stay when you come to another country or city. According to the unwritten rules of Servas you can stay in one Servas host, and only for two nights (it can be more, but only if the owner of the Host suggests). You can friend and chat with him, and if he has time and opportunity, it will show you their city.

Servas Day Host

people who can not stay, but who will be glad conduct an interesting tour for you. This Servas list will be available for Servas travelers only.

Servas Traveler

a person or a traveler who stayed at the Servas Host. He is not obliged to take someone with you. If you are a Servas travelers and decided to travel to any country, then get a list of Servas hosts the country, which will go. The list will be given necessary information about each member of Servas.

About Servas Ukraine

Service Ukraine is Ukrainian branch of Servas International. Our representatives are located in the large areas of Ukraine: Western part (Lviv region, Ternopil Region, Ivano-Frankivsk Region, Central part (Kyiv).

Kyiv Region

Kiev or Kyiv (en.lang) or Київ (uk lang.) Киев (ru lang.) is the capital and largest city of Ukraine, located in the north central part of the country on the Dnieper River. Available for Servas Traveller (Day Host, Hosts)

Lviv Region

is an ‘oblast’ (province) in western Ukraine. The administrative center of the region is the city of Lviv. Available for Servas Traveller (Day Host)

Ternopil Region

is an ‘oblast’ (province) in western Ukraine. The administrative center of the region is the city of Ternopil. Available for Servas Traveller (Day Host, Hosts)

Ivano-Frankivsk Region

Ivano-Frankivsk ‘Oblast’ also referred to as Prykarpattia is an oblast (region) in western Ukraine. Its administrative center is the city of Ivano-Frankivsk. Available for Servas Traveller (Host)
